The SDI to Audio Mini Converter de-embeds four channels of analogue audio or eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio from any SDI video connection, giving you a way to route audio out to mixers, analogue broadcast decks, monitors and other audio equipment. It switches automatically between standard-definition and high-definition video formats as the input changes, covering NTSC, PAL, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 1080psf/23.98, 1080psf/24, 720p/59.94 and 720p/50, with further formats addable over USB. It uses Blackmagic's 3 Gb/s SDI technology, with firmware upgrades loaded through the built-in USB connection for future format compatibility, and ships with a power supply — the same de-embedding role as the newer SDI to Audio 4K Mini Converter, for SD/HD workflows that don't need 6G-SDI or Ultra HD 4K support.
