The ATEM Monitoring Rack Panel 40 is the larger of the two Monitoring Rack Panels — a SMPTE-2110 monitoring converter built into a 2RU rack-mount ATEM control panel. ATEM Constellation IP switchers use front-to-back cooling and carry no local controls of their own, so this panel puts switching buttons, talkback and converted video monitoring wherever the rack is installed.

Its 40 buttons control a local ATEM switcher, including 8 source buttons, 4 transition buttons and 6 talkback selection and mix buttons, alongside a menu knob, set button and panel lock. Converted video displays on the large 5 inch built-in LCD for convenient local rack monitoring, and a 5-pin XLR talkback connection sits on the front panel for communication.

On the converter side, two redundant SMPTE-2110 10G Ethernet connections feed two 12G-SDI outputs and an HDMI output, with SDI rates covering 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G. Each 2110 IP stream carries 16 channels of embedded audio, output as 16 channels on the SDI feeds and 8 channels on HDMI.

Standards run from 720p to 2160p60 in 10-bit 4:2:2 with Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020 colourspace on SDI, SMPTE-2022-7 redundancy, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP v2 timing and NMOS IS-04/IS-05 control over a dedicated 1G Ethernet port. The optional Blackmagic IP10 codec adds 2160p59.94 and 2160p60 IP video, setup runs over USB-C and two internal 100-240V AC power supplies provide full power redundancy.
