The ATEM 4 M/E Advanced Panel is a hardware control surface built to run alongside a separately available ATEM Constellation switcher, giving a live production the tactile, hands-on interface a broadcast gallery relies on. Four M/E rows, a full set of fader bars and a 3-axis joystick put camera switching, transitions, fades and DVE effects under direct physical control, rather than working entirely through software.

Rows, labelling and indication

Each of the four M/E rows carries 40 input buttons, with 40 direct cross points and 80 shifted cross points across the panel. Every button doubles as a small display: 24 independent LCDs handle custom labelling row by row, backed by four system control LCDs, so operators can see exactly what each button is assigned to during a live switch. Tri-colour LED cross-point buttons and 20 on-air indicators keep source and transition status visible at a glance.

Transition and effects controls

A numeric keypad, four fader bars and a 3-axis joystick give direct physical control over transitions, fades and DVE effects, with four transition previews carrying a transition-rate display alongside DSK transition selectors for Auto, Cut and Tie/Preview.

Networking and firmware

The panel connects to its switcher over 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet, with four Ethernet loop outputs for daisy-chaining to another panel or feeding a media-management computer. Firmware updates run over the panel's USB Type-C input, from a computer running macOS 14 Sonoma, macOS 15 Sequoia or later, or Windows 10 and 11. A redundant power supply keeps the panel running through extended studio use.
