The ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel is a control panel built as a companion to professional ATEM switchers from Blackmagic Design, translating program/preview switching onto physical buttons, knobs and fader bars. Two fader bars and a 3-axis joystick handle the switching directly, and the panel customises, monitors and switches live broadcast events — camera switching, transitions, fades and DVE effects — across complex live productions.

Rows and labelling

Two M/E rows each carry 20 input buttons, backed by 20 direct cross points and 40 shifted cross points with tri-colour LED cross-point buttons. Two independent system-control LCDs sit in total, one associated with each row, with the panel able to control up to 4 M/Es on larger switchers, and independent LCDs handle custom labelling for every row and button. 8 on-air indicators show which feeds are live.

Switching controls

A 3-axis joystick, a numeric keypad and two fader bars give hands-on control over transitions and effects, with two transition previews carrying a transition-rate display alongside DSK transition selectors for Auto, Cut and Tie/Preview.

Connectivity and power

The panel connects to its switcher over 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet, with four Ethernet loop outputs for linking to another panel or a media-management computer. Firmware updates run over the panel's USB Type-C input, from a computer running macOS 14 Sonoma, macOS 15 Sequoia or later, or Windows 10 and 11. A redundant power supply keeps the panel running through extended sessions.
