The BirdDog Eyes P200 is a PTZ camera that sends full NDI over Ethernet, built on a Sony Exmor R backlit CMOS sensor and a Sony image module. It outputs NDI, SDI and HDMI at the same time, so it suits NDI productions and SDI workflows alike.
Imaging
A 1/2.8-inch, 2.13MP sensor sits behind a 30x optical zoom lens (4.3 to 129mm, F1.6 to F4.7). The horizontal angle of view runs from 63.7 degrees wide to 2.3 degrees at full telephoto, and focus can be auto, push or manual. BirdDog rates colour sensitivity down to 0.01 lux (F1.6, AGC on, 1/30s, high sensitivity mode). The camera shoots 1080p up to 60 frames, plus 1080i and 720p formats.
Full NDI and outputs
BirdDog's own chip carries the video as full NDI rather than NDI|HX: an I-frame codec BirdDog describes as visually lossless at around 140Mbit/s at 1080p60. NDI, SDI and HDMI run simultaneously, and the 3.5mm stereo audio input and output work with BirdDog Comms.
Movement and control
The camera recalls 128 presets. It takes NDI control, or RS232, RS422 and RS485 serial control with VISCA and Pelco D, and its front tally light follows NDI tally.
Power
It can be powered over PoE+ or from 12V DC; the power adaptor isn't included with this unit.
