The Hi5-12G-TR adds a fibre LC transceiver to AJA's Hi5-12G conversion, accepting either a 12G-SDI input or a fibre LC source and outputting HDMI 2.0. The single-mode LC fibre path extends a 4K signal up to 10 km (6.2 miles) from the source; the 12G-SDI coaxial input doesn't share this fibre reach. It pairs the 12G-SDI input and fibre LC transceiver with a single HDMI 2.0 output, and — because the transceiver can also transmit — both a fibre loop-out and a re-clocked SDI loop-out. Resolution support runs up to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) and UHD 4K (3840 x 2160), including DCI/UHD 4K60 and high frame rates, with HDR10 and HLG support and HDR metadata generation. A five-colour LED indicator shows the locked input rate — blue for 12G-SDI, purple for 6G-SDI, amber for 3G-SDI, red for HD-SDI, green for SD-SDI. Audio accepts up to 16 channels of 24-bit SDI-embedded input, with up to eight of those channels passed to the HDMI output, plus two RCA (L/R) analogue audio outputs alongside it, and a 100-240 VAC universal adapter with a USB firmware-update port is included. This is the top model in AJA's Hi5-12G range, the only one able to both receive and re-transmit over fibre.
