AJA FS4 is a frame synchronizer and converter operating in four-channel simultaneous 2K/HD/SD mode or single-channel 4K/UltraHD mode, built as a 1RU matrix synchronizer for facilities converting and synchronising video up to UHD 4K.

Single-channel or four-channel operation

In single-channel mode, FS4 handles UHD 4K processing, scaling and cross-conversion to 2K/HD/SD formats, and can upscale HD or SD video to and from UHD 4K. In four-channel mode, it processes, scales and cross-converts up to four 2K/HD/SD signals simultaneously.

Audio and signal processing

FS4 converts multiple channels of audio over 3G-SDI, AES and MADI in a wide-ranging matrix — including 16-channel AES audio per input — alongside scaling, colour correction, proc amp controls and motion adaptive deinterlacing.

SDI, monitoring and reference I/O

Connectivity includes four standard 3G-SDI BNC inputs and outputs, plus four 12G-SDI fibre or HD-BNC inputs and outputs via optional SFP modules, a reference loop input/output, GPI input, balanced AES audio I/O via DB-25, MADI audio I/O via BNC coax and ST fibre, and a 3G-SDI/HDMI monitor output.

Remote monitoring and control

Gigabit Ethernet supports LAN management, with SNMP monitoring, closed captioning and web-based remote control.
