The Blackmagic Design Streaming Encoder 4K is a self-contained unit that streams via SRT (H.264 or H.265) or RTMP (H.264), with direct streaming support for platforms including Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and OBS Studio, among others. It connects over a built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port or tethers to a 5G or 4G phone via USB-C. A 12G-SDI input and loop output carry resolutions up to DCI 4K60, alongside SDI and HDMI monitor outputs and an integrated 2.2 inch LCD screen for checking video, audio, status and menu settings. The rear USB-C port can also connect the encoder to a computer as a webcam. Six front panel buttons and a spin knob give tactile control, and the unit runs from either a 100-240 VAC or 12 VDC 4-pin XLR power input.
