The Blackmagic Design Streaming Decoder 4K converts H.264 or H.265 streams from a Streaming Encoder back into SDI and HDMI video, enabling point-to-point transmission between remote locations. Blackmagic cameras with built-in streaming — including the Studio Camera Pro, PYXIS, URSA Cine and URSA Broadcast G2 — can stream directly to it without extra hardware, while a 12G-SDI reference input carries SDI tally, camera control and talkback back to the source. Front and rear USB-C ports tether to 5G or 4G phones, and the decoder switches automatically to that phone connection if the internet fails, with either Ethernet or phone able to be prioritised. Cameras without built-in streaming can pair with a Blackmagic Streaming Encoder instead, its control embedded in the encoder's SDI monitoring output. One-third rack-unit wide and 1 RU high, the decoder can sit on the optional Universal Rack Shelf beside up to two other one-third-width devices — three devices across — and it ships with the Blackmagic Streaming Utility software.
