This ARRI LPL Mount fits RED DSMC2-based cameras, including RED MONSTRO and other DSMC2 cameras, letting ARRI LPL-mount lenses such as the Signature Primes be used on them, taking advantage of the camera's large sensor and the coverage those lenses are built for. An external ARRI LDS-2 port is built into the mount — present but not currently utilized, it could connect to a metadata recorder once external LDS-2 workflows exist; Signature Prime SUP 2.1 lenses instead send Cooke /i metadata through the 4-pin data port. It's a straightforward way to bring LPL glass onto a RED DSMC2 body for camera assistants and crews moving lenses between systems on set.
