The SymplyPRO 2RU Gen2 Migrate rack pairs hot-swap dual drive bays with a full-height LTO-10 enterprise tape drive, built for tape-to-tape migration rather than single-generation archive. It connects over Thunderbolt 3 or 12 Gb/s SAS, in the same 2U enclosure as the rest of the Gen2 rack range.

Built to migrate between generations

The second bay supports an additional LTO-9 full-height drive (not included), so a facility can write new archives to LTO-10 while still reading and migrating existing LTO-9 tapes in the same chassis — pairing two generations for tape-to-tape copy migration or a traditional restore-then-write workflow, without needing separate hardware for each generation.

Capacity and throughput

The fitted LTO-10 drive holds up to 30TB natively at up to 400 MB/s, run from an internal auto-switching power supply (110-240V).

Kitted out, and secure

The kit includes a Rack-Kit for mounting, data and cleaning cartridges, a 2m active Thunderbolt 4 cable, SymplyLOCK and SymplyATOM software for macOS. LTFS lets a finished tape mount and copy like a removable drive, and once removed from the drive it is a fully offline, air-gapped copy, isolated from network-based ransomware. Symply backs the unit with a 3-year worldwide warranty, extendable to 5 years, and it is TAA Certified.
