DECIMATOR 2 is a 3G/HD/SD-SDI to HDMI converter with a built-in NTSC/PAL downscaler, built for use on location or in the studio. Its single SDI input, up to 3G-SDI, auto-detects the incoming 3G/HD/SD signal, with external DIP switches configuring output behaviour — NTSC/PAL, aspect ratio, audio pair and HDMI format — rather than selecting between inputs. It also has a loop-through SDI output, an HDMI output for the converted signal, and a composite output that automatically downscales HD signals to standard-definition NTSC or PAL. A full 10-bit data path minimises scaling artefacts, and closed-caption signals are passed through to the composite output — useful in a broadcast facility. Two channels of de-embedded analogue audio are also output, alongside a 16-channel audio meter display overlaid on the HDMI output and adjustable frame markers.
