The Ultimatte 12 4K Keyer Advanced Compositing Processor is Blackmagic Design's real-time compositing engine for keying live action video. This version of the Ultimatte 12 adds 12G-SDI connectivity to its advanced algorithms, improved spill suppression, colour science and separation, and colour fidelity, aimed at photorealistic composites. Sub-pixel processing runs across Ultra HD and HD for an improved image.

A single-BNC path to 4K, with IP connectivity

A single 12G-SDI BNC connection carries resolutions up to UHD 4K60, with SD, HD, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI support underneath it for mixed-format sources. The chassis carries 8 SDI video inputs, 9 SDI video outputs and 7 reclocked SDI loop outputs, plus dedicated compositing inputs, in a single rack size unit. IP connectivity adds 1 SMPTE ST 2110 video input and 1 output, with the Ethernet reference connection supporting PTP as well as tri-sync and black burst.

One-touch keying for news and sport

One-touch keying and advanced compositing put a clean composite within a single button press, with realistic augmented reality layers and tinting for virtual-set work. Blackmagic Design builds the unit for news, sports and other production types where the keyer has to work at broadcast speed. It's controlled through Ultimatte Software Control on Mac or Windows, or through the optional Ultimatte Smart Remote 4.
