Video moves over standard network cable instead of SDI runs with the Teranex Mini IP Video 12G, a 12G-SDI/Ethernet encoder-decoder supporting up to 4K DCI 4096x2160p signals and using TICO encoding to keep quality high over an Ethernet link. One unit is needed at each end of the link, with multiple units able to share the same network, all controlled from a Mac or Windows computer via the included Blackmagic Video Hub software. Gigabit Ethernet supports up to 1080p60, with an optional 10G optical Ethernet connector available for higher data rates. The unit itself has a single 12G-SDI input and two independent 12G-SDI 10-bit outputs, a Gigabit Ethernet connector and a slot for an optional 10G SFP module, plus an optional LCD Smart Front Panel — compact enough for portable racks at live events or in broadcast trucks.
