The SmartScope Duo 4K packs two 8" monitors into a single 3 RU frame for studio or location monitoring, each with its own loop-through 6G-SDI input and output and support for resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 30p. Inputs auto-sense and auto-select across SD, HD, 3G and 6G-SDI, so there is no format matching to do by hand. Each monitor can show the live video feed or switch to one of six scope displays — waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, YUV parade, histogram, or audio phase and levels — while the source signal continues on to downstream equipment through the loop-through output. Ethernet gives software control over the unit, and an industry-compatible tally system reports record status. Auto orientation sensing flips the image automatically if the frame is mounted upside down, a practical detail in a rack that gets moved between trucks and studios.
