The Media Dock Ultra is a rack mount dock that shares up to three Blackmagic Media Modules — the same modules URSA Cine cameras record to — over the network at very high speed. Each module holds four M.2 flash cards in RAID 0, so recorded media can be cut directly from the modules without copying files, and a module can be unplugged and carried away the moment a job ends.

Two fully independent 100G QSFP28 Ethernet ports serve edit stations over NFS with up to 200 simultaneous computer connections. One port can take recordings from a HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G — capturing eight cameras at once in ProRes — while the other feeds editing workstations, and DaVinci Resolve can edit the files even while they are still recording. Blackmagic Cloud sync keeps a shared local cache of media in step across sites, so remote teams work from local copies without download delays.

Monitoring is built in: two SDI outputs and an HDMI output at 1080p50, 1080p59.94 or 1080p60 show a live storage map with reads and writes, total capacity and use, Ethernet data rate graphs, user activity and Cloud sync status on any TV or monitor. LED bezel rings around each module bay show activity at a glance.

Dual internal 100-240V AC power supplies on separate IEC C14 inputs provide redundancy, with front-to-back cooling and multiple fans for quiet operation. Setup runs over USB-C or the 1G management port using the free Blackmagic Cloud Setup utility for Mac and Windows — no subscriptions, no monthly fees, and the dock can run on a fully private network disconnected from the internet.
