The Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40 is the largest control surface in the Fairlight Live range, built around 40 motorised flying faders and four 11.6-inch 1920 x 1080 touchscreens, one per bank of 10 faders. Every channel carries its own multi-function rotary knob with an LED ring plus select, solo and mute buttons, backed by 40 contextual knobs and buttons that follow whatever is shown on the focus and view screens — built for large live broadcasts.

Fairlight Live software scales from one channel to thousands

The included Fairlight Live software scales to hundreds and even thousands of input channels, each with 6-band EQ, expander/gate, compressor, limiter and format-based panning. Thirty native plug-ins are built in alongside support for third-party VST and AU effects, with four plug-in slots per channel expanding to 24 through ChainFX. Up to 128 VCA groups with nesting, plus eight matrix output mixes, handle broadcast bussing, and the touchscreens show channel strips, levels, EQ, dynamics and plug-in interfaces.

Dedicated keypads for rehearsal, cues and full recall

Dedicated keypads run the player/recorder for capturing rehearsals and virtual sound checks, alongside a cue player with 16 audio cues for jingles and stingers plus 16 MIDI cues for triggering external devices. Snapshots store and recall the entire mixer state, talkback covers four groups plus direct-to-channel and all — using the built-in microphone or a 5-pin XLR headset — and the On Air button locks the panel mid-broadcast.

Broadcast-standard IP connectivity, with redundant power

Audio and video run as SMPTE 2110 IP over two 10G RJ45 Ethernet connections with PTP clock synchronisation, alongside a mic-level XLR input and two line-level XLR outputs on the panel, with USB-C and 1G Ethernet for the computer connection. Fairlight Live also links to ATEM switchers for direct control and audio exchange, with audio-follows-video across up to 100 cameras. An HDMI Type A output carries HD or Ultra HD monitoring up to 2160p60, with two internal 100-240V AC supplies providing power redundancy.
