The Cloud Store Ultra 48TB is high-performance network flash storage in a 1RU chassis with server-style front-to-rear cooling across four fans. The 48TB core runs 12 M.2 NVMe cards in a massive parallel RAID 0 group for speed, and can be reformatted to RAID 5, where every sixth card stores parity data so files can be rebuilt after a card swap.

Two independent 100G QSFP28 Ethernet ports operate as separate networks that never contend with each other — a HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G can record eight cameras into one port while edit workstations read the same media on the other. Up to 200 computers connect over NFS, DaVinci Resolve can edit files while they are still being recorded and each 100G port can break out to 16 separate 10G connections through a Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P.

Blackmagic Cloud Sync distributes media globally with sync status shown on the monitoring outputs, and Blackmagic Proxy Generator Lite is available as an internal software upgrade via Blackmagic Cloud Setup. There are no subscriptions or licence fees, and the free setup utility for Mac and Windows means the whole system can run on a private network, fully disconnected from the internet.

Monitoring is built in. Two SDI outputs and an HDMI output display a live storage map, user activity, hardware status and network data-rate graphs at 1080p, while the 2.2 inch front-panel colour LCD with spin knob shows storage name, capacity and use. Dual internal 100-240V AC power supplies provide redundancy, with setup over USB-C or the 1G management port.
