A 24TB core runs 12 M.2 NVMe cards in a massive parallel RAID 0 group for speed, and can be reformatted to RAID 5, where every sixth card stores parity data so files can be rebuilt after a card swap.

Two 100G networks that never contend

Two independent 100G QSFP28 Ethernet ports operate as separate networks — a HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G can record eight cameras into one port while edit workstations read the same media on the other, and each 100G port can break out to 16 separate 10G connections through a Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P.

Edit while still recording

Up to 200 computers connect over NFS, and DaVinci Resolve can edit media even while recording is in progress. Blackmagic Cloud media sync with DaVinci Resolve proxy file support means camera media from a remote shoot starts syncing within seconds, and Blackmagic Proxy Generator Lite loads as an internal software upgrade.

Built-in monitoring and redundant power

SDI and HDMI monitor outputs at 1080p50, 1080p59.94 or 1080p60 show a real-time storage map, Ethernet transfer graphs, Cloud sync status and power supply errors, while a built-in 2.2-inch LCD with three buttons and a spin knob handles settings from the front panel. Dual redundant internal AC power supplies keep it running if one fails, and there are no subscriptions or licence fees.
