The 10G Ethernet Optical Module is Blackmagic's SFP transceiver for running 10G Ethernet over optical fibre. It plugs into the SFP cage on compatible Blackmagic equipment and gives the device an LC fibre connection, so video-over-IP links can run across distances well beyond what copper Ethernet cabling allows.

Blackmagic offers the module for the Teranex Mini IP Video 12G converter, which carries 12G-SDI video across 10G Ethernet networks. Transceivers send and receive, so a point-to-point fibre link needs a module at each end. If you plan to fit it to other SFP-equipped hardware, confirm the device supports 10G optical Ethernet modules first.
