The Battery Slide for Canon C300 Mark III, C400 and C500 Mark II (Gold Mount) attaches directly to the back of the camera, without rods. A thumbscrew loosens to let the battery plate slide, retaining access for an internal BPU battery. It carries a single Gold Mount battery and powers the camera through a 4-pin XLR cable, which also gives hot-swap capability between the Gold Mount battery and the camera's internal BPU battery — so the external battery can be changed without powering the camera down. Three D-Tap outputs around the battery plate power additional accessories directly from the Gold Mount battery, protected by a digital fuse that cuts them off if overloaded without affecting camera power. It shares this mounting, cabling and D-Tap layout with the V-Mount version of the same slide, for the Canon C300 Mark III, C400 and C500 Mark II, differing only in battery mount type.
