The AU-XPD1EN is a compact, single-slot P2 card reader/writer, not a memory card itself. It connects via USB 3.0, fast enough to keep up with expressP2 card transfer rates of up to 2.4 Gb/s, and is compatible with both P2 and expressP2 memory cards. With the optional AJ-P2AD1G adapter, it also reads microP2 cards. Two USB 3.0 ports are fitted: one for transferring data to a computer, and a second for powering the drive from the computer or an AC adapter. For computers without USB 3.0, the drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. Its single-slot, bus-powered design suits it as a dedicated card-offload station on set or in an edit bay.
