The U40 adds NDI connectivity to an existing camera, encoding an HDMI or other IP-stream source to NDI|HX. It's a compact disk-shaped unit, about 76mm in diameter and 25mm tall, small enough to mount directly on a camera using the included mounting-shoe adapter. The HDMI 2.0 input supports signals up to 4K60p, and two Ethernet ports let it also convert other input IP streams into NDI|HX on the network. It supports PTZ control -- over USB using RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 -- so a non-NDI PTZ camera can be operated from an NDI|HX network, with a built-in tally light to show which camera is live. A DC output can power the camera or monitor it's mounted with.
