The Canon CN-R135mm T2.2 L F is the longest of Canon's seven RF-mount cinema primes, a 135mm lens with a T2.2 maximum aperture. Its 43.3 mm image circle covers full frame, and it also works on Super 35 RF-mount cameras. It mounts directly on RF-mount cameras, with no adapter. That includes Canon's EOS C400, EOS C80 and EOS C50 as well as RED's KOMODO-X.
Angle of view at 135mm
On a 36 × 24 mm (1.5:1) area the lens covers 15.2° × 10.2°, and on a 24.6 × 13.8 mm (1.78:1) area 10.4° × 5.9°. It focuses down to 1 m, where the 36 × 24 mm frame takes in 21.1 × 14.1 cm. The lens measures approximately 118.4 × 118.4 × 139.6 mm and weighs approximately 1.5 kg.
Optics for 8K and 4K cameras
Canon designed the CN-R primes for 8K and 4K cameras, with consistent colour balance, expanded tonal range and reduced ghosting, flare and focus breathing. That can cut colour adjustment in post and gives steadier framing. Every lens in the set has an 11-blade iris.
Matched across the set
The gear positions, the 114 mm front diameter and the focus rotation are the same on all seven lenses. Focus turns through 300 degrees, the same angle as Canon's EF and PL mount primes, so focus and iris control feel the same. Every lens except the 14mm takes 105 mm filters. All but the 14mm and 135mm share one length.
Lens data and handling
Through the RF mount's 12-pin connection the lens talks directly to the camera. On compatible cameras it supports Dual Pixel Focus Guide and lens metadata, plus peripheral illumination correction and, in movie mode, distortion correction. The lens is compact and drip-proof, and a fixed ring design makes handheld operation more comfortable, including in tight indoor spaces.
