The Canon 10x42 L IS WP is a 10x-magnification image-stabilised binocular built for handheld viewing at distance, using Canon's Vari-Angle prism system to counter hand-shake with a ±0.8° correction angle and a quick response time. A single activation button sits where the right forefinger naturally rests, with an optional 5-minute continuous mode for extended viewing; if the batteries run flat or are removed, the binocular still works as a standard non-stabilised optic.

Optically it uses ultra-low dispersion glass elements with doublet field-flatteners and Super Spectra anti-reflection coatings for a bright, high-contrast, distortion-free image across a wide apparent field of view. The body is waterproof and fog-resistant, with an armoured chassis, ergonomic grips and a standard 1/4"-20 tripod socket for steadier long-session use.
