The Blackmagic Extension Arm moves the standard handgrip away from the URSA Mini or URSA Mini Pro body, so the grip sits forward of the camera where your arm naturally falls during shoulder work. The stock grip position suits tripod shooting; on the shoulder, the extra reach gives better balance and control. Blackmagic's URSA Mini Shoulder Kit includes an extension arm for the same reason.

It connects using rosette mounts, the same interface as the camera's own handgrip, and can also be used to space other accessories away from the camera body. At roughly half a kilogram it adds reach without upsetting the balance of the rig.
