The Dante AVIO 2x2 AES3/EBU I/O Adapter connects existing AES3-equipped digital audio gear — DSPs, mixing consoles, compressors and preamps — directly to a Dante audio network, with 2 channels in and 2 channels out. Because the signal stays digital throughout, it avoids the extra analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion an analog adapter would need. It carries AES3 audio at up to 24-bit/96 kHz, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 135 dB and built-in asynchronous sample-rate conversion. Connections are a single XLR-M input, a single XLR-F output, and an RJ45 port for the Dante network; the adapter draws power over that same Ethernet connection (802.3af Class 1 PoE), so no separate power supply is needed. It supports Dante audio-over-IP and AES67 RTP transport, and, like the rest of the AVIO range, is housed in a sonically welded ABS enclosure and is automatically discovered once connected to the network.
