The AJA KONA 4 is a PCI-E video I/O card that ingests and outputs 4K resolution video at up to 60fps over its bidirectional SDI connections, with HDMI provided as a monitoring output rather than an input path, using integrated hardware processing so footage can be viewed natively on a 4K monitor. The card supports HDR10, HLG, PQ and Dolby Vision, with VPID signalling and HDR metadata capture and automatic playback detection where application support is available. Alongside 4K, it supports uncompressed 1080p I/O with 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 colour subsampling, and its 3G-SDI ports can input and output uncompressed 1080p video simultaneously. Real-time hardware-based HD/SD up/down/cross-conversion is built in, and the card ships with a 60-pin breakout cable and a 4-BNC-to-mini-BNC cable. It also works with the optional AJA K3G Rack I/O unit.
