The RMB-170 is a handheld remote control unit built around Sony's 700-series camera command protocol, giving operators control over compatible Sony camcorders from a distance. It can be used in place of an RCP-700 series Remote Control Panel and is compatible with the PMW-500, PMW-320, PMW-350, PMW-F3, PDW-700, PDW-F800, BVP-950A, BVP-750A, BVP-570, BVP-550, HDW-700A, HDW-F900 and DSR-450WSL camcorders. A supplied 10 m (32.80') interconnect remote cable connects the unit to the camera, and on all compatible camcorders except the HD models, it also provides a monitor output so a picture monitor can be connected directly to the RMB-170.
