This unit has 12 drive bays, each of which natively supports 3.5" SAS/SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5" SAS/SATA hard drives and SSDs.

Should users need to expand the overall capacity of their SA3600, the optional RX1217sas expansion unit offers an additional 12 drive bays, while the RX2417sas expansion unit offers an additional 24 drive bays. Seven of either unit is supported via an integrated expansion port.
